Riding high on the overwhelming success of its 2022 WPT World Championship at the Wynn, the WPT announced the first half of its 2023 season XXI schedule.
CEO Adam Pliska promised a push beyond the WPT's 20th anniversary season and promised new partnerships in the coming year.
The next WPT Main Tour event kicks off (no joke) April 1 with a $3,500 buy-in at Thunder Valley Casino in California. This is the first time Thunder Valley has hosted a WPT event since 2020. The tour will continue at Florida's Seminole Hard Rock April 28. The last time the WPT showed up there in 2021, the $3,500 championship event built a prize pool of nearly $8 million. The WPT Main Tour will finish off the first half of the year in at Choctaw (May 5) in Oklahoma and Gardens Casino (May 21) in California.
VP of Global Tour Management Angelica Hael said, “It is the pride of WPT to offer such a wide range of tournament festivals when it comes to buy-in and location."
