Event #8 of the 2021 WSOP is the $600 No-Limit Hold’em Deep Stack tournament. Players in this event started the tournament with 30,000 in chips. Day 1 was scheduled for October 4th and played through 22 30-minute levels. The $600 Deep Stack continued into Day 2 on October 5th and played down to a winner.

WSOP Event #8: $600 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack created yet another first-time bracelet winner. In his post-game interview, Zhi Wu of Boston admitted to a steep lack of experience before his $281,604 first place finish.

“I won a Foxwoods $400 a couple of years ago,” Wu said. “And I came in second in a $1,700 bounty in Florida. But I am not a professional, though I have a little experience.”

This tournament drew 6,151 entries in 2019 to generate a prize pool of $3,229,275. Jeremy Pekarek defeated Dan Kuntzman heads-up to win the event’s top prize of $398,281 and his first WSOP gold bracelet. The final table in 2019 featured no previous bracelet winners.
