Event #72 of the 2021 WSOP is the $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha (8-Handed). This tourney started on November 12 and was scheduled to run for three days.
The $1,500 entry Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha attracted players from eight countries, perhaps thanks to the greater ease with which international players can now reach Las Vegas.
This tournament amassed a roster of 846 players, creating a $1,129,410 prize pool, with $209,716 earmarked for first place. After a full three days of play, Motoyoshi Okamura of Japan came away with that top prize, plus a shiny new gold bracelet.
This is another of the WSOP’s small buy-in tournaments, this time for players who like to mix it up between the Texas and Omaha variants of hold’em. Rounds alternate between no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha. The 2019 winner was Jerry Odeen, who took home $304,793 along with his bracelet. Brazil's Rafael Mota took second place and $129,621.
