Event #66 of the 2021 WSOP is the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship (8-Handed).This elite event draws the world’s finest PLO players. Action began at 3 pm on Wednesday, November 3. The four-day event allowed unlimited re-entries throughout its opening day.
Just two weeks after he broke a 16-year winless drought in WSOP bracelet events, player Josh Arieh has taken down his second bracelet of the 2021 WSOP. Arieh scored first in the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship (8-Handed), earning his fourth lifetime bracelet and a $484,791 first-place payday.
Arieh battled through a solid 208-entry field in the PLO hi-lo event, where 32 players share in a $1,809,050 prize pool. Arieh's ultimate enemy was New York's Danny Chang. Change barely missed his chance for his first-ever bracelet. Not to worry, the player still earned $299,627 for his second-place finish. Third place and a cash prize of $207,369 went to Russia's Anatolii Zyrin. Like Arieh, Zyrin had already taken down a bracelet win this series.
American star and part-time poker commentator Nick Schulman won his third career bracelet in this event in 2019. Schulman rolled through a star-laden, 193-entry field to earn $463,670. The payday was the third-largest of Schulman’s WSOP career, part of his $4.64 million in WSOP winnings to date.
