Event #15 of the 2021 WSOP is the $1,500 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em tournament. This event allowed for one re-entry and ran for three days starting on October 7. Levels started at 40 minutes on Day 1 and then increased to 60 minutes for Day 2 and Day 3.
Most often played online, 6-max no-limit hold'em demands aggression from players. With more frequent blinds than in the more ordinary full-ring format, players need to play fast, with a wider range. This calls for excellent hand-reading skills and no small amount of bravery.
WSOP Event #15 drew a large field of online pros, but lawyer Bradley Jansen exemplified the aggressive dynamics of 6-max play. He outlived a total of 1,450 players to win the gold bracelet. Jansen also took home $313,403 for the win, from a prize pool of $1,935,750.
Isaac Baron was the last man standing in this event in 2019, outlasting a field of 1,832 entries to win his first WSOP bracelet and the tournament’s top prize of $407,739. Heads up play lasted for only four hands as Baron’s pocket aces trumped Ong Dingxiang’s king-queen on the final hand.
