Talal Shakerchi wins Triton Vietnam Main Event for 3,250,000
Talal Shakerchi - Triton Vietnam Main Event champion

Congratulations to Talal Shakerchi, winner of the Triton Poker Vietnam Main Event for 3,250,000 and his first career Triton title.

Shakerchi topped a record-breaking Main Event field of 135 entries to pocket the bulk of the 13,500,000 million prize pool. 

The British businessman claims poker to be his hobby, but has millions in earnings and continues to dominate the high roller scene.

Shakerchi defeated a formidable opponent in Michael Soyza heads up and topped a star-studded final table.

Talal Shakerchi moved all in out of turn with A♦️ 7♦️ thinking he was first to act and Michael Soyza had a decision with Q♠️ J♥️. 

He went into the tank and eventually limped. Shakerchi moved all in and Soyza called. 

The flop came 6♦️ 5♦️ 6♥️ and the diamonds took away some of Soyza's outs with Shakerchi's flush draw on board. 

The turn was the 7♣️ and the river was the K♥️ to award the pot and the tournament to Shakerchi.

Talal Shakerchi raised to 800,000 with T♥️ 7♣️ and Michael Soyza called with J♠️ 3♠️.

The flop was 9♦️ Q♥️ 8♠️ and Soyza checked. Shakerchi bet 1,000,000 and Soyza check-raised to 2,700,000. Shakerchi called. 

The turn was the J♣️ and both players checked to the 2♥️ river. Soyza bet 2,500,000 and Shakerchi raised to 6,500,000. Soyza went into the tank and eventually called with a pair of jacks. 

Unfortunately for him Shakerchi had the straight and Soyza was on fumes.

The turn was the 3♣️ and Shakerchi bet 2,100,000 with his turned straight. Soyza called again. 

The river was the 9♥️ and Shakerchi bet 2,500,000 this time. Soyza jammed for 7,000,000 and Shakerchi quickly folded his straight.

Talal Shakerchi raised to 600,000 from the button with 5♥️ 3♥️ and Daniel Smiljkovic called from the big blind with 7♦️ 6♦️. 

The flop came 7♠️ 2♥️ 6♥️ and there was something for both players. Smiljkovic checked and Shakerchi bet 800,000. 

Smiljkovic check-raised to 2,500,000 and Shakerchi moved all in. Smiljkovic snap-called for 8,150,000.

Shakerchi had a massive combo draw with outs to both a flush and a straight while Smiljkovic had top two pair.

Right away the turn was the T♥️ and Shakerchi made his flush to take a stranglehold on the hand. The river was the K♥️ and Smiljkovic was eliminated.

Play is paused briefly before the start of heads up play.

The turn was the 2♦️ and Soyza bet 1,500,000 this time. Smiljkovic called again.

The river was the 7♠️ and Soyza bet 4,500,000 this time, finally getting the fold he was looking for from Smiljkovic.
