Brazilian tournament crusher tops Episode 50 field for a $319,830 payday
The GGPoker Super MILLION$ High Roller hit the 50-week milestone this week. Since beginning nearly a year ago, the $10,300 buy-in High Roller has become a staple on the high stakes scene, and arguably stands as the most prestigious weekly tournament in poker.
Super MILLION$ Episode 50 featured a table full of familiar names, and the eventual champion earned his second win in GGPoker’s flagship tournament. Brazil’s Bruno Volkmann topped the field at Tuesday’s final table, coming away with $319,830 in the win.
Volkmann outdueled fellow high-stakes regular Elio Fox (2nd - $253,440) in the heads-up duel for the title. Volkmann and Fox began Tuesday’s action fifth and ninth in the chip counts, respectively, with Fox coming up just short of an improbable win after beginning with just 8.5 big blinds.

Volkmann adds another chapter to his Super MILLION$ legacy
While last week’s Super MILLION$ featured a few unknown players at the final table, Episode 50 offered the usual lineup of poker’s most well-known names among this week’s final nine.
Volkmann entered final table play with 27 big blinds, in his seventh final table appearance at the Super MILLION$. This week marked the second consecutive final table run in the High Roller for Volkmann, who finished eighth in last week’s tournament.
The run Volkmann end up at the top of the charts by tournament’s end. With the Episode 50 win, Volkmann now boasts two wins, a second-place finish, and a fourth-place finish in the Super MILLION$.
Fox, despite beginning the day with just 8.5 big blinds, made his deepest Super MILLION$ run to date. His previous best finish in the tournament came just last week, which saw Fox run to a fifth-place showing and a $123,772 payday.
Other top finishers included David Coleman (3rd - $200,831) and Sam Greenwood (4th - $159,142). Greenwood began the day as the tournament chip leader, with more than 118 big blinds in the stack.
Greenwood represented yet another player making back-to-back Super MILLION$ final table appearances, but couldn’t improve on last week’s career-best second-place finish.
Rounding out the final table were Antonio Mirotta (5th - $126,107), Michael Addamo (6th - $99,930), Joao Vieira (7th - $79,186), Joakim Andersson (8th - $62,749) and Zhuang Ruan (9th - $49,723).
The Super MILLION$ hits the one-year mark in two weeks. Also playing out this week at GGPoker is the WSOP Super Circuit Online Series, which sees the Day 1 flights for the Main Event wrap up on Saturday.
