The bracelet for the 2022 WSOP Event #3: $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout went to Scott Seiver. Seiver already had three World Series of Poker bracelets on his wrist, this makes four.
He follows David Peters who also won his fourth bracelet ever during this series. Peters won the $100k High Roller Bounty event on the day before Seiver's win.
“I feel great, I was just really fired up to play a bunch of tournaments," Seiver said in his post-win interview. "There is something just so special about the World Series of Poker. The past few years, I’ve only played a few events here and there. I kind of wanted to just — you know — push it a little bit and see how I felt. So far, so good."
The $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout was a straightforward freezeout event. No rebuys, no add-ons. Each of the 752 entrants had just one shot at the bracelet.
Day 1 saw the field shrink from 752 down to the money with 113 players left in the action after the bubble burst. Those players returned on Day 2 and played down to the final ten who reconvened on Day 3 for the TV final table where Sevier won.
The WSOP congratulated Seiver on his win, tweeting a picture of the champ with his bracelet and the caption: "Scott Seiver wins his fourth bracelet after taking down the $2,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em for $320,059!"
Despite the big field and low buy-in, the final table had several big names for Seiver to beat including Chris Hunichen, Nick Schulman, and Steve Zolotow.
Seiver went into the final table with a comfortable chip lead, having almost double the next biggest stack. He was able to use that stack to keep the pressure on eventually beating Alexander Farahi heads up for a $320,059 payday.
PokerGO, which broadcast the entire final table on its streaming service also gave Seiver a plug.
"It's a good year to be a three-time bracelet winner as @scott_seiver triumphs," wrote the PokerGO Twitter team. "Becoming the second player this year to claim their fourth @WSOP bracelet. Seiver came into the FT as the chip leader and beat out a stacked lineup to earn $320K."
Farahi won $197,806 for his second place finish.
