'Continental' freerolls return, 'Country' freerolls added
The 'Continental' freerolls introduced in 2023 return in a slightly altered form. For 2024, all participating players will again be assigned to one of four 'Continental' player pools depending on their country of registration, and if a winner of a bracelet event comes from the same continent (the continents do not align exactly with the real-world versions of same), then all players from that 'continent are eligible to enter a follow-up freeroll GGPoker will award an additional $3 million in the freerolls -- called 'Continental Flipouts' over the course of the series.
This year, players will be entered into a competition based on individual countries as well. The top 10 countries, based on a points formula derived from finishing position, will qualify for exclusive 'Bracelet Standing' freerolls, with another $1 million in prize money to be awarded.
"I am thrilled to unveil another exciting year of WSOP Online, said GGPoker Global Ambassador Daniel Negreanu. "This series is not only an opportunity to compete for WSOP Gold Bracelets but also brings players from different regions together to showcase their skills. It’s a unique chance for the global poker community to participate in the most prestigious online series and create truly unforgettable poker experiences!"
As always, GGPoker will be providing a wide selection of satellite tourneys, offering players a chance to win their way into bracelet events at a vastly reduced price. Satellites into online bracelet events can be found for as little as $1.
GGPoker's regularly scheduled tourneys will also be available throughout the series, comprising most of what GGPoker describes as a "comprehensive side-event schedule'.
