As we reported last week, PokerStars’ annual Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is coming to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ontario from April 5-22.
There’s a $7m guarantee across the four regulated regions, and real-money players can book their seats in some of the biggest tourneys for free, thanks to the PokerStars Path to SCOOP promotion.
Daily chances to spin your way up to a SCOOP entry
When PokerStars announced details of their revamped loyalty program a few months back, one of the key features of the new approach to rewards was daily Power Path tickets. These Spin & Go tickets, each worth $0.25, are received once a real-money player has played a single raked cash game hand or tournament fee.
Usually, a win in a Power Path Spin & Go advances you through the steps until you acquire a ticket which can be used in a Step 4 satellite awarding prizes worth thousands of dollars, such as live event packages or huge online ticket bundles.
The ‘Path to SCOOP’ promotion gives this a twist, putting the possibility of playing a $100 SCOOP tournament within reach of even the smallest of bankrolls.
Four steps to SCOOP
Here’s how the limited edition SCOOP Power Path, running now until April 22, works in action:
- Play a single raked real-money hand, or tournament, to receive a Step 1 Path to SCOOP Spin & Go ticket worth $0.25.
- Use your ticket by registering for the relevant Step 1 tourney in the Spin & Go tab. These $0.25 tournaments award prizes up to and including $100 SCOOP tickets, as well as $0.75 Step 2 tickets.
- If you win a $0.75 ticket, use it to register to a Step 2 16-player, 4-Max hyper-turbo shootout, awarding a seat to Step 3.
- Use your Step 3 ticket, worth $10, to play a Step 3 MTT awarding at least one $100 SCOOP entry.
Once you’ve won a $100 SCOOP ticket, check the schedule and pick the tourney you want to play. Good luck!
If your Step 1 win awards you with a $10 or $100 ticket, you can skip Steps 3 and/or 4.
You can find your tickets in the ‘My Rewards’ > ‘Tournament Tickets’ section in the client. Highlighting each ticket will show you tournaments you can use them in - just double-click a tournament to head straight to its lobby and register.
