WPN guarantees $50 million across seven-week series
The wait is over for what Winning Poker Network is calling the "Biggest PKO Series in History."
The $50 million guaranteed MoMoMo PKO Tournament Series began Wednesday on the WPN network. The seven-week series features the Progressive Knockout format in all tournaments, with the series running from Sept. 9 through Nov. 1.
More than 500 different events await on the MoMoMo PKO schedule. The popular PKO format takes over the entire slate of tournaments in what's being hailed by WPN as the biggest PKO festival of all time.
"Throughout the history of online poker, no other site has offered a series this big made up of over 500+ Progressive Knock Out tournaments. It’s not even close," reads the promotions page for the series.
Here's a look at some of the biggest events coming up for WPN players over the next seven weeks:
Venom PKO Main Event ($5 million guaranteed)
The progressive bounties in the Venom PKO Main Event will likely produce some of the biggest knockout prizes in the history of the PKO format. The centerpiece of the MoMoMo PKO Series offers a $5 million guaranteed prize pool.
WPN is calling the Venom PKO Main Event the biggest progressive knockout tournament in history. The $2,650 buy-in event features four Day 1 flights (October 23rd, 25th, and 30th, and November 1st).
The survivors of those Day 1 flights come back Nov. 2 and play down to the final table. The final nine return for Day 3 on Nov. 3 and play until a winner is crowned.
The last time WPN ran a Venom Main Event, two seven-figure winners came away from the tournament, with a prize pool that reached $9.68 million.
Weekly Sunday PKO feature events ($1 million guaranteed)
Each of the first six weeks of the MoMoMo PKO Tournament Series offers a $1 million guaranteed 8max PKO feature event. These weekly events commence each Sunday of the series at 3 pm eastern time.
WPN players can look for these $600 buy-in, $1 million guaranteed events on September 13th, 20th, and 27th, as well as October 4th, 11th, and 18th. The MoMoMo PKO Series offers a total of seven events with a $1 million or more guaranteed prize pool.
Sunday Special ($500,000 guaranteed)
More big-money Sunday tournaments await on the MoMoMo PKO schedule in the form of the $500,000 guaranteed Sunday Special. These $200 buy-in events will likely draw some of the largest fields throughout the series schedule.
The Sunday Special tournaments take place on each Sunday of the series with a 2:30 pm start time. This kickoff time gives players the chance to multi-table the $500,000 guaranteed Sunday Special with the $1 million guaranteed Sunday feature PKO events.
