Making a final table in an online MTT is no easy feat, in particular during a major international series such as GGPoker’s WSOP Online. Yet at the halfway mark of this headline-grabbing series, which runs to the end of September, David Peters has already done it 47 times.

The impressive number - which includes side events - has seen Peters add to his online winnings, yet with more than $46M in recorded live tournament earnings to date it is unlikely to have Ohio’s number 1 ranked player dancing in the streets.

Nevertheless, this hot streak remains an achievement to be proud of, and with 16 major bracelet events remaining on the schedule Peters will be hoping to continue his winning run all the way to a third WSOP Online bracelet. He has two to his name already, won in the 2020 $10K NLHE Heads-up Championship and the 2021 (US-only) $7,777 Lucky Sevens High Roller.

Peters has also won bracelets in live WSOP events in 2016 and 2022, as well as notching major wins on the PokerGO Tour (above), EPT, WPT, Triton Poker Super High Roller Series and more.

WSOP Online series smashing guarantees

As of September 8 - the approximate halfway mark of the WSOP Online series - 1,696,794 total tournament entries have generated prize pools which have cumulatively reached over $149,000,000, beating the collected guarantees so far of $105,000,000.

Big names and big prizes have been making headlines, including the world’s number one money-winner Bryn Kenney taking down the $2.1K Bounty Championship for $225K, and an enormous $633K win for Romania’s Vlad Darie in the $215 NLH Mystery Millions Bounty.

Bryn Kenney brought some sartorial splendor to the Triton $100K Bryn Kenney won his second WSOP bracelet online in late August.

The biggest prize won so far was, perhaps unsurprisingly, the $1,000,000 top bounty in event #7, the $215 Mystery Millions event. The supersized bounty was pulled by 'Zipflwiggz', who also cashed for a comparably meagre $245.05 in the event.

Upcoming series highlights include:

  • September 16: Event #22 - $400 COLOSSUS ($4M GTD)
  • September 16: Event #23 - $400 PLOSSUS ($1M GTD)
  • September 23: Event #28 - $5,000 WSOP Online Main Event ($25M GTD)
