WSOP Online Circuit MI/NV/NJ: Porbandarwala makes it 12

The World Series of Poker has released official results for five more online WSOP.com Circuit ring events on its MI/NV/NJ platform. Event #8 featured the 12th Circuit victory for Soheb 'Spewheb' Porbandarwala. moving him into a tie for sixth on the all-time list. Events #4 through #8 also featured return winners, with Joseph Altomonte and Brent Roberts each capturing their second career rings.

The middle section of the June Online Circuit's 12-event slate offered two PKO events in addition to a mystery-bounty tourney, with a $1,000 high-roller and a more affordable 'Double Stack' event also drawing healthy numbers. All five of these events easily topped their prize-pool guarantees. Brief summaries of each of the five ring events follow:

Event #4 - $320 NLH PKO Deepstack 6-Max $150K Gtd.

New Jersey's Joseph Altomonte was one of the stars of recent days. The 2023 bracelet winner, playing as '3BettingYou', picked up his second career bracelet in Event #4. Two days later, he'd almost win a third, finishing as the runner-up to Florida's Justin Datloff in Event #6.

In the Event #4 Deepstack, Altomonte topped well-known pro Dave Alfa for the win for a combined payout of $22,635.88 in prize and collected bounties. Alfa, a three-time ring winner himself, earned a combined $21,229.37 as the runner-up after collecting a large number of bounties before reaching heads-up play. Dutch pro Martijn Gerrits, another prior ring winner, finished third for a combined $8,696.13.

Event #4 drew 629 total entries (412 buy-ins and 217 re-entries) and offered a total prize pool of $188,700. The top 120 finishers made the money.

Event #5 - $215 NLH Mystery Bounty $150K Gtd.

In the Circuit series' Mystery Bounty tourney, New Jersey's Brent Roberts won his second career ring, fifteen and a half years after he won his first in a live Circuit event in New Jersey in late 2008. Roberts has won well over $1 million in WSOP-branded events over the past two decades.

Roberts earned a winner's payout of $27,150.46 in the event, and collected another $1,632.12 in collected mystery bounties for a combined cash of $28.782.58. Second place went to 'roodyawake', who took down a combined $20,244.35, and third went to Aleks Dmitrov, who cashed for a combined $16,373.11.

Event #5 attracted 809 unique players, who contributed another 549 re-entries, producing a 1,358-entry field and a $271,600 prize pool. 240 players cashed in the event.

Event #6 - $320 NLH Double Stack $150K Gtd.

In the $320 NLH Double Stack Event #6, Florida's Justin 'KingJutty69' Ratloff stopped Joseph '3BettingYou' Altomonte from winning his third career Circuit ring in a three-event span. For Datloff, it was a breakthrough win, with the $32,529.36 payday representing more than half of his WSOP earnings to date.

Altomonte's near-miss was still worth $23,794,80, while Derin 'Lakshmi Tyche' Goodman earned $17,390.16 for third. 664 entries (438 players, 226 re-entries) made for a $199,200 prize pool. The top 120 players earned a cash.

Event #7 - $1,000 NLH High-Roller $175K Gtd.

Michigan's Firas Sadou picked up the first major win of his career by taking down Event #7, $1,000 NLH High Roller, and the accompanying Circuit ring. Sadou's win was worth $62,856.62, but it's not close to his largest live tournament score. At the 2023 WSOP, he placed seventh in the $25,000 PLO High Roller event for a live career best of $276,141 that still represents more than half of his known live tourney winnings.

Sadou topped Pennsylvania's Matthew Sabia for the win, leaving Sabia to collect $45,888.66 for second. Minnesota's Jeffery Hoop, a prior bracelet winner, finished third.

Event #3 drew 343 total entries -- 225 unique players, 118 re-entries -- to build a $325,850 prize pool. The event paid the top 60 finishers.

Event #8 - $500 PLO PKO 6-Max $75K Gtd.

It's an even dozen Circuit rings for Soheb Porbandarwala after his win in Event #8, the PLO PKO 6-Max. Connecticut's Porbandarwala, playing on WSOP.com as 'Antefada', made up for a near-miss earlier in the series by claiming the ring here.

Porbandarwala earned a combined $26,279.75 in prize and accumulated bounties after busting five-time ring winner Mark Liedtke for the win. Liedtke collected $20,909.05 in total. Guan Huang took third for a combined $16,641.61.

Event #8 drew 335 total entries -- 193 unique players plus 142 re-entries -- to create a $156,445 prize pool. The top 60 players cashed in this event.
