The Women in Poker Hall of Fame (WiPHoF) has announced its eight finalists to be considered for enshrinement as part of the WiPHoF's Class of 2024. Following an initial public nominations phase and a vetting of the most popular nominees by WiPHoF officials, these eight women, representing both the player and industry sides of the poker world, will now be voted on to be among this year's honorees:
- Kristen Bicknell Foxen
- Liv Boeree
- Jeanne David
- Jamie Kerstetter
- Kara Scott
- Rebecca McAdam Willetts
- Annette Obrestad
- Jennifer Shahade
The well-deserving lineup of finalists includes all three women who missed out on enshrinement after also being among the 2022 finalists -- Liv Boeree, Kristen Bicknell Foxen, and Kara Scott. This year, they are joined by five more well-known women in poker.
Former PokerStars executives Jeanne David and Rebecca McAdam Willetts are among this year's final eight, where they are joined as newcomers by Jamie Kerstetter, Annette Obrestad, and Jennifer Shahade.
Finalist voting commences
The biennial WiPHoF enshrinement process now moves on to the final round of voting. All living WiPHoF members are eligible to vote, along with a select committee of eight veteran media and industry representatives. Each voter receives a bloc of 10 votes, which can be distributed among one or multiple candidates.
The poker public can also be part of the finalist-voting process. Besides already having determined the bulk of the finalist, poker followers can also visit the WiPHoF public finalist voting page to select their favorites. The page also includes brief bios for each finalist. Collectively, the public's choices represent one additional ballot.
The WiPHoF's finalist voting period extends into November, after which this year's enshrinees will be announced. The 2024 honorees will be feted at a luncheon during the Women in Poker Winter Festival week in Las Vegas, with full details to be announced at a later date.
