On Saturday, April 26, the PokerGO Studio at the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas will play host to The One Step Closer Foundation, a special event in partnership with PokerGO, ARIA, and PokerStars — who will once again host its All In For Cerebral Palsy charity poker tournament.
The action kicks off at 4:00pm — with registration open an hour earlier — and the tournament comes at a price point of $1,000 with $500 rebuys and add-ons available.
With a 50/50 split on the prize pool, half of the money raised goes directly to the final table finishers and the other half to the foundation. Plus, the top prize for the tournament includes a $5,300 NAPT Las Vegas Main Event seat, as well as an eight-night stay at Resorts World and $1,900 for travel and expenses.
Big names showing up when it counts
As always, the field will be dotted with big name celebrities — both from within and outside of the poker world. Amongst the confirmed attendees are Ray Romano, Montel Williams, Joe Cada, Jennifer Tilly, David Oppenheim, and Ben Lamb — with more expected to appear.
PokerOrg recently spoke with One Step Closer Foundation founder Jacob Zalewski, who told us, "I've always known I was here for a reason and I always thought that if the big man put me in a position to do some good, I'd do it without hesitation. To use poker terminology, he called me on my bluff."
Through its charitable efforts, The One Step Closer Foundation has changed lives through a variety of fundraising vehicles. "We've raised around $2 million and have contracts with top hospitals and institutions in the United States. We've changed countless lives and we'll keep going," Zalewski said.
