This week, the dual Venom PKO tournaments on ACR Poker came to a close following four days of intense action at the virtual tables. Notably, both of the $2,650 buy-in events exceeded the guarantees set by ACR Poker.
After hard-fought battles in the $5M GTD No-Limit Hold'em PKO Venom and the $1.5M GTD Pot-Limit Omaha PKO Venom, two players stood above the rest to claim the Venom PKO titles and the top prizes in their respective events.
'TruePro' nets $700,000 payday
In the NLH PKO Venom, 'TruePro' rose above the 2,646-entrant field to claim the top prize of $393,837, along with $310,312 in bounty prizes – bringing his total winnings in the event past the $700,000 mark. The entry numbers generated a total prize pool of $6,615,000 – split evenly between placement and bounty prizes – smashing the $5,000,000 guarantee set by ACR Poker.
After starting the final table third in the chip counts, 'TruePro' navigated his way through an intense final table battle to collect all the chips in play and score a few big bounties along the way, taking the lion's share of both the regular prize pool and the bounty prize pool.
'TruePro' defeated 'Worm236' in the heads-up portion of play to cement his victory and take home the NLH PKO Venom title. The final hand of the battle saw 'Worm236' make a call for his tournament life with just queen-high. With only 16 big blinds remaining in his opponent's stack, 'TruePro' limped from the button with , and 'Worm236' checked their option from the big blind. The two players went to the flop, and 'TruePro' fired a small bet when checked to. 'Worm236' made the call and the two players saw the turn.
Again, 'TruePro' bet and his opponent check-called to see the river. Having made a pair, 'TruePro' put his opponent to the test with an all-in shove, and 'Worm236' used their entire remaining time bank before calling it off with just queen-high. The hero call gone wrong left 'TruePro' holding all the chips and sending the remaining bounty prizes into his player account.

'0to100k' lives up to his name... and then some
In the PLO PKO Venom, '0to100k' overcame the 706-entrant field to earn themselves the $149,560 top prize, along with $162,219 in bounties – a total score of well over $300,000. The impressive number of entries generated a prize pool of $1,765,000 – also divided in an even split between placement prizes and bounty prizes – to blow past the $1,500,000 guarantee set by ACR Poker.
'0to100k' came into the final table second in chips, but with multiple other players on deep stacks, his work was far from over. When play reached four-handed, '0to100k' won a key pot to take an even more commanding chip lead over the one-time runaway favorite 'ElmoGG'.
Facing a raise from 'WillyWonka' on the button, '0to100k' three-bet with from the small blind. After his opponent called, the two players saw the flop. 'WillyWonka', having made top pair with , called a continuation bet from '0to100k' to bring in the turn. '0to100k' slowed down on this card, opting to check the action over to his opponent. Armed with top two pair now, 'WillyWonka' took the betting lead with a pot-sized wager and '0to100k' decided to put the rest of the chips in there and then.
With only 24 big blinds left to call off, 'WillyWonka' put in the chips his top two pair – getting the money in good, but risking his tournament life. The river smashed '0to100k' to improve his hand to top set and send 'WillyWonka' to the virtual payout desk.
From there, three-handed play saw '0to100k' chip away at his opponents' stacks, but it was 'ElmoGG' who notched the elimination of 'UnkleSkit' in third place to claim the bounty. The final hand of the tournament saw '0to100k' connect with another fortuitous river after getting all the chips in the middle with the worst of it. On a board reading the two players committed their chips and 'ElmoGG' had the best of it with two pair.
