The Orleans Hotel & Casino was built in 1996 in the shadow of the Las Vegas Strip, just a short drive west on Tropicana in a locals-friendly area that also includes Gold Coast, Palms, and the Rio. The poker room opened in 2002 with just 23 tables — a year before the Moneymaker Boom rocked poker and Las Vegas.
The rest of the casino is a one-stop entertainment complex with 52 lanes of bowling, an 18-screen movie theatre, and a 9,500-seat arena. Nestled near the arena complex is the poker room — now 34 tables with 24/7 cash games and one of the strongest daily tournament schedules on or off The Strip.
Big daily tournament prize pools and a player-friendly room have contributed to a growing reputation among both locals and tourists, especially during the packed summer season. Well-timed tournaments in the late afternoon capture a big bustout crowd and The Orleans offers affordable mixed tournaments that are difficult to find anywhere else.
Regular games and tournaments
The Orleans is the top spot for Omaha hi-lo, with $4/8 and $8/16 always running. You can also find $3/6 limit hold’em at any time. Regular games include:
Cash games
- $1/3 no-limit hold’em
- $3/6 limit hold’em
- $4/8 limit Omaha hi-lo
- $4/8 limit hold’em
- $8/16 limit Omaha hi-lo

Tournaments run on a consistent schedule with a $100 buy-in Monday–Friday at 11 am. The same time slot hosts a $150 tournament on Saturday and the $200+$100 Sunday Special. The Sunday Special is considered one of the best daily tournaments in town and the guarantee bumps up to $100K this summer.
The 4 pm daily tournament slot runs Monday–Thursday and Saturdays with a variety of non-hold’em tournaments and a $100 buy-in runs at 6 pm Monday–Thursday. The 6 pm slot hosts a $150 Friday night NLH tournament and a $150 pot-limit Big O on Sundays.
Free parking all summer and beyond
Free parking and a Fuddruckers are two things that are hard to come by in 2025, but you can find both at The Orleans. The room has long appealed to both locals and tourists, said Eric Ewing, the Orleans Poker Room Manager. “Free parking, easy access to the room and a food court conveniently located near the poker room makes The Orleans a convenient and comfortable location among poker players.”
The summer series will offer over $3.8 million in guarantees with buy-ins from $150 to $1,000. It will all culminate in the $600 Championship with eight flights starting on July 2. The Orleans is one of the leading counter-programmers of the WSOP summer with a convenient location and a schedule with lower buy-ins than one might find on The Strip.
“We are always trying to encourage the growth of poker and different types of games,” Ewing said. “We host more mixed game tournaments than any other casino and continue them on a weekly basis outside of our summer series.”
Comps and promos
The rake is 10% up to $5 with $2 for a jackpot drop that services several promotions like the bad beat jackpot and a variety of progressive quads bonus payouts. You can also find a lot of seasonal and sports-related promotions throughout the rest of the year.
“Our poker room is best known for our jackpots, promotions and tournament play, while also being a great value to poker players with a very competitive rake.”
Players earn $1.25 an hour for comps.
“We welcome feedback from players on how to improve our tournaments and cash game promotions. Having a very diverse schedule, a great staff, a variety of promotions and convenient location helps us to offer some of the best poker action in town.”
