Hey, got two minutes?
That’s literally all it takes to get right up to speed with all the latest news, views and, well, gossip from the beating heart of the poker world this week.
PokerOrg’s Sarah Herring has been hanging out with the pirates in the Caribbean, in the land of the swashbucklers known as WSOP Paradise, and has a treasure chest of juicy nuggets to share.
So, yeah: two minutes. We’re not kidding, you can time us.
What’s the latest?
- Poker players aren’t exactly famous for their fashion choices, but c’mon - fake fur and flip-flops? It shouldn’t work, but by god it does, especially for Alex Foxen who rode the vibe all the way to a $3.8M win in the $100K Triton Main Event.
- Did you see who went out on the stone bubble of the biggest $25K the WSOP ever held? Clue: he’s won bracelets before, and his name sounds like ‘Hill Phellmuth’.
- The introduction of mystery bounties has brought a new kind of fun to poker tournaments. Knock someone out and you’re guaranteed to draw a prize envelope, although sometimes, it’s literally just an envelope. Ouch.
- An unofficial former PokerStars Pro reunion just went down at Atlantis, with Chris Moneymaker, Vanessa Selbst and Liv Boeree all pulling up a chair at the WSOP. it went better for some than others. Much better.
- Justin Bonomo is no stranger to controversy, but it’s not usually to do with his fashion choices. What’s going on with ‘scarf-gate’, anyway?
