No Gamble, No Future Season 6 continued on Tuesday evening with another installment of its $25/$50 cash game featuring Jimmy D'Ambrosio, Kasey 'PokerMommaa' Mills, Sashimi, Justin Young, Shawn Madden, and PokerStars Ambassadors Joe Stapleton and Caitlin Comeskey.
While the banter and story-telling on the No Gamble, No Future set reached new heights – thanks to the comedic trio of D'Ambrosio, Stapleton, and Comeskey – the poker on display provided plenty of entertainment as well. After a hot start in last week's episode, Stapleton continued to run well and play better as he added even more to his profit column.
If you've ever watched a PokerStars stream with the legendary commentary duo of Stapleton and James Hartigan, you'll have heard the phrase, 'Everyone loves a chop pot.' It's one of their many lasting gifts to the poker world.
In a hand with D'Ambrosio, however, Stapleton wasn't in the mood to share.
Not everyone loves a chop pot
It was Young who kicked off the action in this one, raising from early position with . D'Ambrosio wanted to see three with his
and made the call, but Sashimi was on the button with a powerhouse hand –
– and fired off a minimum raise to $200. Stapleton came along from the small blind with
and Young matched the raise as well.
With the action back on him, D'Ambrosio sensed a trap. "This is the s**t Justin loves, he loves this s**t. He called because he's hoping I raise. I know what you're doing!" D'Ambrosio explained. Then he threw another $100 chip in the pot for a call.
On the flop, both Stapleton and D'Ambrosio made the same straight, but it was the latter who came out firing on the flop when the action checked to him. Sashimi tossed her no-good bottom pair into the muck, while Stapleton continued with a smooth call – prompting Young to fling his cards back to the dealer as well. The
turn connected the board even further and the action went check, check. On the
river, Stapleton announced a bet of $800 – exactly half of the $1,600 pot.
"I flop a straight and I'm dead. Fold," declared D'Ambrosio as he tossed his cards face up onto the felt for all to see.
Stapleton then threw down the exact same hand. "I did flop a straight," he said.
"Nice bet, nice bet. Back to retiring!" exclaimed D'Ambrosio. "The funny guy bluffed me, I'm out."
