We asked him for his funniest poker story. Over to Frankie...
The biggest casino in the world happened to be near where I went to school, the Windstar Casino in Durant, Oklahoma. I was a Southern Methodist University student falling in love with poker. My buddies and I would play all week in the lower-stake NLH cash games.
Before COVID, it was an amazing room; the tables would be packed on Friday and Saturday nights. But the room had seen its better days at this point in my story.
There are probably about 15 tables running this one night. So, when something goes down, everyone in the room knows about it.
I was playing higher stakes for myself at the time, a $2/$5 game. The biggest game running in the room was a $5/$10 game, and there were two tables behind me. I'm with my buddy, and we'd probably been there for about four hours.
At this time, I started hearing a lot of noise from the $5/$10 game; that noise attracted at least half the poker room. Everyone who wasn't in a hand went over to see that action.
A woman had moved all in on the river. Her opponent was a very serious, professional player, with big headphones hanging on his head. He was facing a $2,000 all-in. He was taking his time and deciding what to do, and the woman flashed him by pulling up her shirt.
Whether this was a move to get him to fold or call, we didnât know. She was a bit of a drunken mess. So, the dealer ended up calling the floor over. But we're all here for the show, and everyone is very excited to hear the ruling. Is her hand dead?
The floor man decided the hand was still live. The man who had been flashed is now very deep in the tank. No oneâs leaving the area; weâre waiting for the playerâs decision.
Since she had flashed the player, security was called over, and they were waiting nearby for the hand to be over. It felt like the player took about 15 minutes to decide.
Finally, he reluctantly laid down his hand. She snaps her cards over on the table and reveals a bluff. It was one of the most insane bluffs I have ever seen. She flashed her breasts to get into his head, to scare him off from making the call. It was a play you would not make sober, but you must respect the gall.
Of course, she was immediately escorted out, and her day was done. Maybe it would be a lifetime ban; we don't know. But in her moment of glory, she puts her chips on a table and gives the casino one last flash show for everybody watching. She received a standing ovation as security picked up her chips and escorted her out of the poker room.
It was a story and a woman that I'll never forget.
