Veteran poker pro Shannon Shorr has added to his long list of poker accomplishments by taking down Event #2 of the PokerGO Tour Last Chance series to earn $297,500. Shorr came from well back as Day 2 action began to ultimately win the largest-ever $10K event in PGT history.

Event #2, the second of six $10,100 no-limit hold'em events on the Last Chance slate, drew in a record 119 entries for a PGT $10K tourney, with Shorr's nearly-$300,000 being the winner's share of the resulting $1.19 million prize pool.

Shorr topped Joe Serock in a heads-up duel that began with the players nearly even but lasted just two hands. With short stacks in play, the two got the chips in with Shorr holding A-6 and in a virtual race against Serock's pocket fives. The flop brought two aces and no five appeared, sealing Shorr's come-from-behind win.

The day could have been extremely short for Shorr as it was, as he won another flip against start-of-day chip leader Stephen Song, who ultimately faded to a fourth-place finish. Shorr got his short stack in with pocket jacks against Song's A-K, but Song couldn't improve, and the double-up paved the way for Shorr's run to the win.

Runner-up Serock earned $184,450, while David Chen finished third for a $130,900 score. Song's strong showing was worth $101,150.

The Event #2 finale offered one PGT leaderboard development of note as players jostle to secure one of the 40 guaranteed seats into next weekeend's PGT $1,000,000 Championship Freeroll. Sixth-place finisher Ren Lin secured enough leaderboard points to move into the top 40, though he might need an additonal cash in the remaining four Last Chance events to lock up a seat.
