The first PokerGO Tour Major series of the season rolled into the weekend with three more tournaments and another pile of points to hand out on the way to crowning the next PokerGO Cup champion in Las Vegas.

The series spans eight events through February 20 and five of them are now in the books, with Joey Weissman now on top of the PokerGO Cup standings. Weekend winners include Friday’s Adam Hendrix, Saturday’s Eric Blair, and Monday's Sergio Aido

Previously on PokerGO Cup, Texas Mike Moncek topped Weissman in Event #1 before Weissman returned the favor in a heads-up sequel during Event #2.

Stakes will increase for the final three events, with a $15,100 buy-in for #6 and #7 before the $25,200 finale.

Hendrix bluffs Castro

The third event of the series started with a record-breaking 129 entrants on Thursday before the final seven returned on Friday to play for the $316,050 top prize. Hendrix entered the final day with one of the short stacks but a big bluff in heads-up play against Harvey Castro carried him to a victory that was worth 316 PGT points.

Blair beats red-hot Weissman

Saturday’s tilt returned the final six players from a starting field of 98 entries and Justin Saliba was leading the pack for most of the final day until Eric Blair and Joey Weissman shoved him out of the picture.

Weissman, who scored his third top-two finish of the series, traded the chip lead with Blair several times in heads-up play before he fell in second place for $161K and a pile of PGT points that have set him as the leader in the PokerGO Cup race.

Eric Blair won his first PGT event on Saturday. Eric Blair won his first PGT event on Saturday.

Aido cleans house

Event #5 started on Saturday with exactly 100 entrants and the top 15 players were paid out before the final six returned on Monday evening for the finale.

Michael Moncek entered the day as the chip leader with a chance at his second win of the series and he was followed by Shannon Shorr and Sergio Aido at the top of a leaderboard that also included Nick Schulman, Nick Seward, and 2025 PGT breakout player Brandon Wilson

Sergio Aido won Event #5 at the 2025 PokerGO Cup.

Wilson, Seward, and Schulman were bounced first and Shorr jumped into the chip lead during final three play, but Aido doubled through Moncek and left Texas Mike at the bottom before Shorr finished the job to send the tournament to heads-up play.

Aido hung around and eventually found a nut flush that brought him the big double and a chip lead. The Spaniard finished the job a short time later to win the $255K top prize.
