On Tuesday, the PokerGO Tour (PGT) kicked off the action in Event #1 of the 2025 PokerGO Cup as the second series of the season. The fifth installment of the PokerGO Cup will run February 11-20 inside the PokerGO Studio at Aria in Las Vegas with an eight-event schedule for players to partake in. With buy-ins ranging from $5,100 to $25,200, the No-Limit Hold'em series offers players the chance to parlay an initial cash into a life-changing run.

The PokerGO Cup is the first of the season's four PGT Majors (PokerGO Cup, Poker Masters, U.S. Poker Open, and Super High Roller Bowl) and players will earn PGT leaderboard points based on the amount they cash for in each event. These points will also determine which player will be crowned the PokerGO Cup Champion – a highly prestigious award that comes with a $25,000 PGT Passport bonus prize and the PokerGO Cup trophy.

Daniel Negreanu won the inaugural PokerGO Cup series back in 2021, passing the mantle to Jeremy Ausmus in 2022 and then on to Cary Katz in 2023. Currently, Jonathan Little holds the title of PokerGO Cup Champion after his 2024 run saw him claim outright victory in two events en route to the overall series title.

"Winning the PokerGO Cup is definitely one of my fondest poker memories," Ausmus said. "It's not an award for one tournament, but a series of tournaments which really gets me motivated. It's tough competition so that makes it more rewarding."

Kristen Foxen atop the PGT Leaderboard

After claiming victory in the final event of the PGT Kickoff series for the second year in a row, Kristen Foxen tops the 2025 PGT Leaderboard with a total of 524 points and will presumably look to extend her lead throughout the PokerGO Cup.

Patrick Leonard made his PokerGO Studio debut during the PGT Kickoff, impressing all with three final table appearances and an outright victory in Event #2, and currently sits in second place on the PGT Leaderboard with 342 points.

Kristen Foxen is the early leader in the PGT standings after three cashes and a win in the Kickoff series. Kristen Foxen is the early leader in the PGT standings after three cashes and a win in the Kickoff series.

For audiences eager to follow along as the action unfolds, PokerGO will offer live-streamed coverage of the final table for each event. Additionally, for Events #2 through #8, PokerGO will provide Bonus Day 1 coverage for fans to track each player's path to the final table.

It all kicks off with the final table of Event #1 on Wednesday, February 12 at 4:00 pm ET, which will be followed immediately by Day 1 coverage of Event #2 starting at 10:30 pm ET.
