Phil Ivey made two final tables on the final day of the 2025 Triton Poker Jeju festival, but he couldn't convert either into his sixth title.

He ended fourth in the $50K Short Deck Ante-Only event (won by defending champion Tan Xuan), before hopping back in and max late-regging the $25K one-day Short Deck Ante-Only event, where he finished sixth.

Isaac Haxton took Ivey's final Jeju chips, with beating . Ivey flopped best but Haxton turned an ace and rivered the flush to send him to the rail, with the board running out

With his two cashes, Ivey picked up another $302,000 to get him within $1.5 million of the $50 million mark in all-time earnings

Haxton still searching for Triton trophy

As the curtains were drawing on Jeju, Haxton looked like he was finally going to get the Triton monkey off his back and win his first ever title.

It's hard to believe that Haxton hasn't won one. He's played enough, cashed in enough and won enough without actually lifting a trophy. Ahead of the $25K one-day Short-Deck Ante Only event, Haxton had already bagged close to $14 million at Triton events and cashed 49 times. His 50th would not prove the charm.

Haxton was the dominating chip leader with five left, with double the chips of Kiat Lee in second place. However, things are never that simple. Lee took the chip lead when he took out Lun Loon in fifth and the final four fought an epic battle that went on for over two and a half hours, with all four players swapping positions and the chip lead.

Michael Zhang broke the deadlock, eliminating Rene Van Krevelen in fourth and taking a dominating chip lead for himself. He had double that of Lee in second and almost four times Haxton, who was now the shortest stack.

Close but no cigar for Ike Haxton, whose hunt for a Triton trophy continues. Close but no cigar for Ike Haxton, whose hunt for a Triton trophy continues.

Kiat Lee wins his first Triton

Haxton's latest shot at a Triton trophy ended straight after. He got it in good with against Lee's but the runout wasn't kind.

Instead, it was Lee who finally got his hands on a Triton trophy after 32 cashes and 17 final tables, and losing heads-up five times. Talking with Triton Poker afterwards, he said, "It means a lot to me. I always wanted to win a title.”

Haxton's time will surely come.
