Daniel Negreanu has won Event #6 of the ongoing PokerGO 2024 PLO II series, $10,100 Pot-Limit Omaha, earning $265,200, and his eighth career PokerGO Tour title. Negreanu began the day second in chips behind Day 1 leader Alex Foxen but moved into the lead early on and dominated most of the final-table play.

Foxen finished as the runner-up in the tourney, earning $171,600. Matthew Wantman came back from being the short stack to take third for $119,600, and Jeremy Ausmus (fourth, $93,600), Nick Schulman (fifth, $67,600), and Nacho Barbero (sixth, $52,000) rounded out the streamed-finale finishers.

Negreanu surges to title

Day 2 of this $10.1K PLO event started out as a duel between Negreanu and Foxen, who narrowly led the final six after Day 1 action. For the most part, the finale held true to form, with either Negreanu or Foxen claiming the day's first four knockouts before Negreany closed out Foxen for the title.

Negreanu started Day 2 just 65,000 chips behind Foxen and edged into the lead during the day's first orbit. Foxen regained the lead for a short while by sending Argentinian star Barbero to the rail in sixth. Negreanu soon clawed his way back into the lead, then opened up a wide gap by busting Schulman, Ausmus, and Wantman in consecutive hands.

Matthew Wantman spun it up from the short stack for a third place finish. Matthew Wantman spun it up from the short stack for a third place finish.

That left only Foxen as Negreanu's final foe, with Negreanu using the three-knockout run to claim a nearly 3:1 edge in chips to begin heads-up play. Foxen managed to climb a little closer, but he also soon fell to Negreanu's rush. The final hand found Foxen getting his entire stack in on the river, with the board showing . Foxen's hand included an ace and a ten for a tens-over-aces full house, but Negreanu had an ace and a queen for queens full, sealing the hand and the win.

Alex Foxen couldn't stop the surging Daniel Negreanu. Alex Foxen couldn't stop the surging Daniel Negreanu.

The victory also moved Negreanu into second place on the PokerGO Tour's 2024 leaderboard, behind Ausmus, whose fourth-place finish in Event #6 kept him ahead in that race by over 500 points. Negreanu moved into third in the separate leaderboard race for the PLO Series II, behind Wantman and Isaac Haxton.
