The fledging and quite successful Moneymaker Poker Tour has announced that it will make the first return visit to a venue in the tour's brief history, when it returns to Florida's Palm Beach Kennel Club, the popular cardroom on the Atlantic Coast, in late October.
The Moneymaker Tour debuted in May in West Palm Beach, where player turnout led to a run of easily surpassed prize-pool guarantees. Given the strong debut, a return visit was all but assured, and the Moneymaker Tour's second visit to PBKC will take place October 25 through November 6, 2023.
The 12-day series will offer 27 trophy events, over a half million dollars in guaranteed payouts, and buy-ins ranging from $86 to $1,500. Given that the series' debut in May ended up paying over $1.4 million in prizes, the October tour is also likely to smash its pre-series guarantees.
Action begins in late October with a $500 buy-in mystery-bounty event with a $200,000 guarantee. Including the mystery bounty's multiple opening flights, the event runs for five calendar days, starting on October 25 and running through October 29. The stop's full schedule has yet to be released, but it will become available in the coming weeks at the Moneymaker Poker Tour online home.
"We are very excited to welcome back the Moneymaker Tour at PBKC," said Noah Carbone, PBKC Poker Room Director and Asst. General Manager. "The inaugural tour event in May proved to be a great fit for us with a variety of popular events appealing to all types of poker players."
Carbone added, "We recognized all that was great in May and put together an even better series for Oct. 25 to Nov. 6."
"The Moneymaker Tour looks forward to returning to PBKC this October as we continue to grow our partnership," said Tony Burns, the Moneymaker Tour's co-founder and Executive Manager. "The inaugural series was an amazing success with great stories from Gene Calden to Main Event winner Mike Rossi."
Calden, a centenarian and a PBKC regular, won one of the initial stop's preliminary events and parlayed his overnight fame into a seat sponsored by the MoneyMaker Tour into July's WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas. Rossi topped a 262-entry field to take down the May stop's Main Event, collecting $134,265 for the win
