'Texas Mike' Moncek and Daniel Negreanu are at the top of the chip counts after the $100,000 Super High Roller Bowl: Mixed Games tallied up 25 entries on Day 1.
The three-day, 10-game tournament will close registration at the beginning of Day 2, where 17 players will return after eight 60-minute levels on Day 2.
Moncek has a big lead over Negreanu in the second spot after both players chipped up big late in the evening. Negreanu doubled through Yuri Dzvielevski in a hand of Pot-Limit Omaha near the end of the night to find a healthy chip stack and then surged again to finish with the second-most chips. Meanwhile, Moncek jumped to the top of the leaderboard after a three-way hand took from Albert Daher and sent Talal Shakerchi to the rebuy window.
Other top counts include Benny Glaser, John Racener, and Scott Seiver — all in the top six of 17. They'll return on Friday with a full field and a fresh table draw for Day 2. Dzvielevski, Daher, Samuel Sternfield, and Nick Schulman all failed to bag and they will have to pony up another $100K in the morning.
