A chaotic scene erupted at the World Series of Poker Circuit stop at Cherokee when a man flipped several tables with tournament chip stacks while the $1,700 Main Event was on a break.

Players had just cleared out for the break with 65 players left when an unknown man walked into the tournament area and flipped over three tables and their chip stacks before security could stop him.

Tournament staff reviewing footage

Tournament staff is now looking at surveillance footage in an attempt to verify the stated stack sizes of players by cross-referencing it with security footage of the tables before the incident.

According to staff, they are close to having corrected and reconstructed the stacks on these three tables in the hope that play can resume.

Update — 6:40 pm ET:

After spending close to two hours taking the information that players provided and cross-referencing it with surveillance footage, the tournament staff reconstructed the stacks at all three of the tables that were knocked over.

Every stack and every other remaining table in the event has also been counted down and the amount of chips in play is verified and correct, so the decision has been made to go forward with the completion of the tournament as scheduled.

Play starts again in Level 21 (15,000/30,000/30,000).
