Jessica Marks has won the WSOP Online International Ladies Championship on GGPoker, earning her first World Series of Poker gold bracelet and a $16,612.66 winner's payday on Saturday. The Ladies Championship resumed yesterday after a week's hiatus, and Marks came from well back as the final table began to take down the event.
Marks, a German player participating from Austria, began the final table with one of the shortest stacks in play, well behind early leader Julia Bondarovich. The final nine included several well-known players, including Canada's Vanessa "niffler" Kade, UK players Amelia Riot and Suzie Williamson, and Israel's Mary Dvorkin, who placed fifth in the $1,000 WSOP Ladies Championship in Las Vegas this past summer.
Marks, who min-cashed in the live WSOP Ladies Championship herself, did better this time out. The $16,213 payday topped her career live earnings to date, which are reported by the Hendon Mob as $12,391. Russia's Bondarovich, in her first recorded cash, earned $12,457.65, while Poland's Zhanna Hodovanets placed third for $9,341.92.
