ACR Poker's Online Super Series (OSS) has officially kicked off, with chunks of the $25M series guarantee padding players' bankrolls right this second. On Sunday, March 23, the first of the two Main Event starting flights gets underway and to give players a leg up on the competition, PokerOrg reached out to ACR Pro Jeff Boski to get the inside scoop on how to maximize your OSS experience.

With such a diverse mix of tournaments and buy-ins in the OSS, how do you choose which events to play, and do you plan your schedule in advance?

Since I am able to multi-table up to 16 MTTs at once, I play everything from $2.50 to $109. I will take shots at $215s if the fields are big. The bigger the field, the softer the field in general. I don't do much planning. I just login and late reg every event and continue registering until the session is winding down.

How does your strategy/approach change when playing different formats, such as turbos and progressive knockouts?

In turbos, you can't pass on any close spots like you can in a longer structured event. In PKOs, you always have to be cognizant of what stacks you cover and their progressive bounty amount and how these factors will affect the ranges.

What’s one common mistake you or other players make in the series, and what’s your top tip for avoiding it?

In the past, I took an aggressive approach during the re-entry period to maximize my chances of topping the leaderboard. Looking back, I realized it's important to weigh the potential rewards against the risks involved. Always ask yourself, 'Is the juice worth the squeeze?'

What advice would you give to players for managing a bankroll effectively during a big online poker series like OSS, especially those on a limited budget?

For large-field MTTs like the OSS, you need even more average buy-ins than in smaller fields due to the increase in variance. Sure, you could win 200+ buy-ins in most of the OSS events, but you could also go on a 200 buy-in downswing much easier.

Boski: 'I overdid it in the past'

Looking back on past series, can you share a memorable moment or experience that has influenced how you’re approaching this OSS?

I overdid it in the past and grinded the leaderboard too hard. I sacrificed too much life equity and balance to achieve an unlikely goal.

Which OSS tournaments are you most excited to play, and will you be streaming for fans to follow?

I am excited for the big Day 2s and all the additional events that are added to the already-juicy daily schedule. It will just be bigger prize pools across the board. I will be streaming a lot more on Twitch

If you had to give one key piece of advice to someone playing the OSS for the first time, what would it be?

Use good bankroll management and be in the right mindset before you sit down to play. You want to be optimistic AND realistic at the same time. You want to care 100% about a given MTT until the moment you inevitably lose, then you must forget all about it and move on to the next opportunity.
