If there's a lesson that should need no reminder in the high-stakes tournament poker world, it's that you can never, under any circumstances, count out Alex Foxen.

When Foxen began heads-up play against Neil Warren in Event 7 of the 2025 PGT US Poker Open on Wednesday, he was down by a deficit of more than 4.5-to-1. But he turned things around in a hurry, claimed the chip lead, fought off a comeback from Warren and then put the tournament away.

Winless streak a distant memory

It was two weeks ago exactly when Foxen ended a winless streak of more than two years inside the PokerGO Studio, and now he's doubled up with his second such victory of 2025. Overall, Alex Foxen has won nine PGT trophies.

This one was worth $340,200 and 272 PGT points — enough to push Foxen all the way up to second place in the overall 2025 PGT leaderboard behind current leader Eric Blair. Kristen Foxen, who has three PGT titles thus far in 2025, currently sits fourth overall.

Foxen is second in the PGT US Poker Open-specific leaderboard but a fair distance behind current leader Matthew Wantman. A Player of the Series win would require Foxen to finish first or second in the ongoing $25,200 USPO Championship event in order to pass Wantman, provided Wantman himself doesn't cash.
