Online poker giant GGPoker has announced an agreement with Lebanese poker operator PokerArabia that will see the latter's users in Lebanon join the global GGPoker player base.

PokerArabia is operated by Onlive Support Services under a license from Casino Du Liban (above), a live gaming venue that was first officially licensed in 1957. PokerArabia and BetArabia, a sportsbook and online casino, were launched in 2022, and the former is currently the only government-licensed online poker room in the Middle East region.

Merging with GGPoker’s enormous global player base will bring more games, more tables, bigger tournaments and larger payouts to online poker players in Lebanon, and the migration is due to take place on or around September 1 - this Sunday.

Is a live WSOP event coming to Lebanon?

The deal will also bring the possibility of online qualification and participation in WSOP events to Lebanon-based poker players, while the possibility of a live WSOP event taking place in the Middle East is already being discussed.

In announcing the deal, Onlive Support Services CEO Jad Gharios said, “We look forward to the online launch, offering WSOP Online to the region, and hosting a live WSOP event at the historically-acclaimed Casino Du Liban in the near future.

We'll keep tabs on developments as they arise - watch this space.
