There are at least 250 million reasons to set your sights on GGPoker next month, and they are almost all $$$ as the world’s leading online site returns with its GGPoker World Festival.

Running from May 5 to June 11, there are five weeks of action across four buy-in tiers, with last year's $200 million in guarantees raised to a mouth-watering $250 million.

Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker ambassador, helped announce the World Festival, stating, “Let the festivities begin on May 5 as we continue our tradition of revolutionizing poker year-on-year!”

Negreanu added: “We made history in 2023, and now, with $50 million in additional prize guarantees, the GGPoker World Festival is bigger and better than ever!”

Quads: A buy-in for every budget

To set the scene of what promises to be a massive online poker festival, here are the four levels of buy-in:

  1. Low Tier ($2.50+ buy-in)
  2. Medium Tier ($25+ buy-in)
  3. High Tier ($150+ buy-in)
  4. Super Tier ($1,050+ buy-in)

That should cover most everyone’s bankroll and, of course, there are satellites running throughout the series, offering you the chance to grab seats for even less.

No series worth its salt is without a good leaderboard race and the GGPoker World Festival has four of them to match the different tiers, worth a total of $2.5 million.

  1. Low Tier $250,000
  2. Medium Tier $500,000
  3. High Tier $750,000
  4. Super Tier $1,000,000

World Festival versus SCOOP?

Full details of the World Festival series will be released shortly, but one very noticeable fact is the clash with PokerStars’ SCOOP (Spring Championship of Online Poker).

Scheduled for kick-off on the same date, Sunday May 5, the SCOOP series has three buy-in levels – Low, Medium, and High – with leaderboard races to match, as well as an overall leaderboard race.

SCOOP is, however, a full 10 days shorter than GGPoker’s offering, and it will be interesting to see if both festivals smash it, in line with recent record-breaking poker events.
