The Commerce Casino & Hotel in Los Angeles will once again play host to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Tournament of Champions, from May 15-17, 2025.
The tournament is a freeroll for all those players who have won a WSOP bracelet or Circuit ring from June 2024 to May 2025, with a confirmed $1,000,000 prize pool and the first WSOP bracelet of the summer up for grabs.
Last year’s ‘champion of champions’ was Dong Meng, who banked $200,000 for his victory after qualifying thanks to a bracelet win in the 2023 $1K Flip & Go WSOP event. Meng won just over $160K when taking down the bracelet, an amount outstripped by his Tournament of Champions (TOC) victory, which remains his career-high score to date.
"We are happy to return to The Commerce Casino & Hotel for the WSOP Tournament of Champions and our 15th consecutive $1,000,000 freeroll,” said Ty Stewart, Chief Executive Officer of the WSOP. “With a $2 million guaranteed Circuit Main Event, WSOP satellites and nonstop action at the world’s biggest poker room, this is like the opening ceremony for the 2025 WSOP.”
The final table of the Tournament of Champions will be streamed live so you can watch as the first 'summer' bracelet of 2025 is won.
18 WSOP Circuit rings up for grabs
The TOC will be the centerpiece of the final WSOP Circuit stop of the season, but it won't close things out. The Commerce is hosting 18 ring events from May 8-24 with a combined $3.5M in guarantees.
The schedule includes a $1,700 Main Event (May 16-20) with a $2M guaranteed prize pool. Other events include a one-day seniors event, HORSE, TORSE, PLO, bounty and high roller tournaments.
The series is also likely to provide the latest chapter in the story of the greatest WSOP Circuit players of all time, with the top three ranked players — Ari Engel, Maurice Hawkins and Dan Lowery — all winning rings within the past month, tying and breaking records seemingly on a regular basis.
The Tournament of Champions series closes just ahead of the WSOP 2025 opening its doors on May 27. There are another 100 bracelets up for grabs at the Paris and Horseshoe Casinos in Las Vegas. The first is the three-day $1,000 Mystery Millions no-limit hold'em event.
