$12.5m is a big chunk ‘o change to guarantee but, as unbelievable as it seems, the prizepool in ACR’s Venom tournament is on course to ultimately surpass that figure.
Day 1A took place on April 14, and the results so far are not pointing to an overlay. 1,689 players stumped up the $2,650 entry, making it the biggest Day 1 in ACR Poker history.
Four more Day 1s are scheduled before Day 2 begins on April 29 - see the dates below - but the tournament is already well on its way to the 5,000 players needed to cover the guarantee.

Moneymaker, Kenney, Boski and more join the crowds
Among those taking a Day 1A stab at this year's tournament were ACR Pros Jeff Boski, Ebony Kenney, Chris Moneymaker and Jon Pardy, who hit a river so hard his yells of victory appeared to have broken his camera.
While the $2,650 entry is more suited to pros than recreational players, ACR Poker has devised plenty of routes into this epic tournament for those with smaller bankrolls. These include:

More to be won in Venom Specials
A series of extra tourneys called Venom Specials are also running on each Day 1 and Day 2, with more than $10m GTD across these events. These include a $1m GTD tournament with a $630 buy-in, which will take place on April 28.
Of the 1,689 players who took a shot at Venom’s Day 1A, 310 have progressed to Day 2. Leading the pack at the moment is ‘TIKITAKA11’, who has run their starting stack up to a dominating 6.49m chips.
