Annual partypoker festival moves online for the first time
November 2020 shapes up as quite a month for major online tournament series in the poker world. The Battle of Malta and High Rollers Week are both in full swing at GGPoker, while PokerStars currently runs the 2020 EPT Online.
Partypoker adds its own big festival to that list this Friday, with the 2020 Caribbean Poker Party Online set to kick off on the partypoker international client. The series, which usually takes place in the Bahamas and stands as one of the most popular live festivals in poker, moves online for the first time ever this year due to COVID-19 considerations.
The 2020 Caribbean Poker Party (CPP) Online Wastes no time getting right into the big money events, starting things off with a $500,000 guaranteed tournament Friday. Some of the highlights of the 2020 CPP Online schedule include the following:
Event #1: The Opener ($1,050 buy-in, $500,000 guaranteed)
The CPP Online slate begins Friday with the first of three Day 1 flights in Event #1: The Opener. The $1,050 buy-in event offers a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Day 1A (Friday), Day 1B (Saturday), and Day 1C (Sunday) play out over the first weekend of the series. The survivors of those three flights come back for the Final Day on Sunday evening and play down to a champion.
Note that the Day 1C starts at 4:05 GMT Sunday, with the Final Day kicking off at 7:05 GMT. The Opener features a progressive knockout format
Event #2: Main Event ($5,300 buy-in, $5 million guaranteed)
The pinnacle of the CPP Online schedule begins Sunday, Nov. 15, as the first of two starting flights in Event #2: Main Event gets underway. Day 1A (Nov. 15) and Day 1B (Nov. 22) give partypoker players two chances to advance in the biggest money tournament of the series.
Players advancing from those two flights come back for Day 2 on Monday, Nov. 23. Day 3 of the Main Event plays out on Tuesday, Nov. 24, going down to the final table.
The final table then plays through on Wednesday, Nov. 25, the last day of the CPP Online series.
Event #4: Super High Roller ($25,500 buy-in, $2 million guaranteed)
Perhaps the most anticipated event on the CPP Online schedule begins Tuesday, Nov. 17. Event #4: Super High Roller features the highest buy-in of the festival at $25,500, with a $2 million guaranteed prize pool.
The Super High Roller will almost certainly bring out one of the toughest fields of any event on the CPP Online schedule. The tournament plays as a two-day event, with players surviving Day 1 coming back for Day 2 on Wednesday, November 18, and playing down to a champion.
Event #9: High Roller ($10,300 buy-in, $1 million guaranteed)
The third or a trio of seven-figure prize pool events on the CPP Online schedule, Event #9: High Roller, offers $1 million guaranteed and a $10,300 buy-in. This tournament stands as one of the last to begin on the festival schedule, commencing Tuesday, November 24.
The two-day event brings back players advancing from the opening-day flight for the Final Day Wednesday, November 25.
