We're more than halfway through the 2024 WSOP, and it's time to find out who's happy, who's sad, who's up, who's down, and who doesn't care anymore.
How's your summer going?
I've been here in Vegas for about four weeks. My first week started out really strong, with five cashes, but they were all small cashes, no day twos. It’s been a bit of a dry spell and rougher going since then. I think I've had about six or seven entries with no cashes, which is standard. I honestly think everything's just par for the course. You just have to be prepared for the dips and tournaments.
Energy to keep grinding
I drink a lot of water. Being here in the desert is really hard. I try to walk as much as possible. I don't have a gym here, so walking is my main exercise. Even between the properties you can get 10,000 steps in.
Proud to support friends
Nikki [Limo] making a deep run in the Employee Event was super fun. I had a great time on her rail. I got to rail Landon Tice at his final WPT final table and watch him play heads-up for the big money. That was a joy and a treasure. Anytime you can be on the rail for friends, it’s super cool.
Goals
I am going to be playing in the Main Event. My biggest goal actually is just endurance and keeping up with the pace. Last week, I took a break from poker and focused more heavily on my agreements to do content. Now, I am getting back to playing more poker. But the main thing is getting all the way through July.
Jared Jaffe video spoof
I have to credit that video concept to Abby. It was her idea to do a collaboration on that subject matter. Jared's tweet had gotten a lot of attention on Twitter. I tend to gravitate toward things that pop off on poker Twitter.
Abby is really great at finding creative camera angles. She's definitely a little bit more sophisticated in the way she thinks about the visuals, which is great for me because I think more about the script. I was really happy with the collaboration. And then Jared was just so generous and lovely with his time to be able to be a part of the joke with us.
