What are the special ingredients that make a poker video extra tasty?

The chefs behind PokeOrg’s videos are always busy in the content kitchen, cooking up everything from bite-sized snacks to three-course meals. They make us laugh, make us wonder, but mostly they make us want to go play poker.

We’ve taken a quick look over the past year or two to bring you some of the most requested dishes on the menu — videos with views in the millions.

Let’s take a closer look at five key ingredients that make these videos so spicy.

#1: Questions of etiquette

Poker has rules, but it also has etiquette — social dos and don’ts that you generally pick up over time, but aren’t always obvious.

And then there are those situations where people can't always agree on what's acceptable and what's not.

Here’s one video on that subject, looking at the issue of whether it’s okay to suddenly leave a cash game when you’re up. Even if you just lost a $100K cooler.

Join over 3 million viewers and check it out now:

#2: Celebrity

Who doesn’t enjoy the razzle dazzle of having a non-poker celeb at the table?

When boxer Ryan Garcia sat down in the Hustler Casino Live game, he didn’t mince his words when it came to internet personality, Celebrity Poker Tour player and sometime boxer Bryce Hall.

Garcia’s verdict? “The kid’s a coward.”

Another 3 million views and counting make this another hot YouTube short.

#3: Confrontation

When we talk about a poker hand, we often use labels like ‘Hero’ and ‘Villain’, because the dynamics of any hand boil down to a confrontation of stacks, of strategies, personalities and more.

Of course, we try to keep it civil. There may be money on the line, but this is a game of cards. It’s challenging, complicated and competitive, but it’s also fun. Usually.

More than 2.5 million views so far for this hand, teetering as it is on the edge of a physical bust-up, make it another viewer favorite.

#4: A bad beat

From hero to zero on the turn of a card; we’ve all been there.

The true horror of a bad beat can only be known by the person who experienced it first-hand. It’s why when our friends relate their own stories of woe and one-outers we nod, and frown, and try to act interested and like we’ve not heard it all before.

So how did this bad beat freakout get more than 2 million views? One word: drama.

Sample quote: “I really wanna put my fist right through that glass!”

#5: Daniel Negreanu

Let’s be honest, Daniel ‘KidPoker’ Negreanu is often one of the most entertaining players at the table.

With decades in the game, he’s not one to fall short on issues of etiquette, to get up in another player’s grill or to bemoan a bad beat. He loves poker, which makes poker players love to watch him, and what’s more, he’s not afraid to buck convention and do things his own way.

Like, you know, carrying his own chair to a new table. With almost a million views, this is just Daniel doing Daniel.
