PGT Mixed Games: Hennigan wins 8-Game title, Eskandani bags first in H.O.R.S.E.

Poker Hall of Famer John Hennigan has captured the second PokerGO title of his career by winning Event #2 of the PGT's new Mixed Games series, the $5,100 8-Game. 'Johnny World' dominated the two-day event, routing the 89-entry field to earn a $120,150 winner's payday.

Hennigan entered the Day 2 finale of the eight-game-mix tourney with a dominant chip lead. His final-table starting stack of 6,225,000 accounted for nearly half of the chips in play and was nearly six times as large as the starting stacks for his closest competitors, Max Hoffman (2,250,000) and Adam Friedman (2,000,000).

Hoffman encountered tough going early on Day 2 and was eliminated in fifth. Friedman held on to post a runner-up finish, while Ken 'Doc' Aldridge, who began Day 2 with the shortest stack, finished third. Nick Guagenti (fourth) and Christopher Claassen (sixth) rounded out the final-table finishers.

Hennigan, a six-time WSOP bracelet winner and a 2018 Poker Hall of Fame inductee, has earned over $9.3 million in recorded live-tournament cashes. Besides his six WSOP bracelets and two PGT wins, his other major accolades include winning the 2006 WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open main event for what remains his career-best payday of $1,606,223.

Hennigan's prior PokerGO Tour win came just four months ago. In Event #4 of November's PokerGO Tour Sprint series' $10,100 No-Limit Hold'em, he topped a 98-entry field to win $97,894.

This second event of the ongoing PGT Mixed Games festival built a $445,000 prize pool and paid the top 13 finishers. The results for the six-player final table are as follows:

The action is coming thick and fast in the Mixed Games series, and the PokerGO president has finally bagged himself a trophy.

Mori Eskandani won his first PGT title when he took down the $10,200 H.O.R.S.E. event on Saturday night. The $201,600 first-pace prize money was also his biggest career score and took him over the $1 million career-earnings mark on The Hendon Mob. Eskandani started recording tournament cashes way back in 1985.

The 202 PGT points Eskandani picked up move him to the top of the Mixed Games series leaderboard. Benn Glaser is second, Maksim Pisarenko is third, and Daniel Negreanu, who finished fourth in the H.O.R.S.E. event, is sixth.

Eskandani is better known for producing poker shows, and he boasts High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark among his career landmarks.
