Brant Jolly showed up near the end of the Horseshoe Hammond schedule of events and final tabled both events he played. He finished in 10th place in Event #10: $1,100 No Limit Hold'em and then took down the Main Event for his largest WSOP score, second WSOPC ring and first Main Event title.
"It feels great," Jolly said after winning. "This is like my seventh or eighth Main Event and it feels good to lock one up."
"I was pretty tired but I guess that helped me lock in," he said. "I didn't worry about talking or anything. But now I'm full of energy and it feels like a relief."
"It seemed like I was just surviving," Jolly said of the extended three-handed play. "I wasn't picking up a ton of opens (hands) or defends. I was just surviving with little bluffs here and there staying alive. I was hoping something else would happen."
"Everyone was tough, no one was losing chips - it was tough," said Jolly. "I finally got in a hand where I won a flip for about 20 bigs and that really gave me the leverage to take chips from the other two."
Jolly has no immediate plans to travel to another poker event and said he's just going to relax for a little while.
Stay tuned for a recap on the Main Event and results!
