The NFL draft is over and free agency is down to a small trickle. That’s why it’s the perfect time to look at the updated Super Bowl odds at the Winning Poker Network Sportsbooks.
Here are the top-10 favorites:
1. Kansas City Chiefs (+510)
2. Baltimore Ravens (+510)
3. San Francisco 49ers (+825)
4. New Orleans Saints (+1055)
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1105)
6. Dallas Cowboys (+1860)
7. Buffalo Bills (+2150)
8. Indianapolis Colts (+2150)
9. Seattle Seahawks (+2100)
10. Philadelphia Eagles (+2465)
Kansas City could have a ‘Super Bowl hangover’ after winning the big one for the first time since the 1969 season. Even coach Andy Reid could have his intensity dialed down a notch after finally getting the monkey off his back.
Note the Patriots are the last team to repeat back in 2003-2004. Those squads were led by an elite defense, with Tom Brady more of a very good game manager at that point.
The Chiefs do have a generational talent at quarterback in Patrick Mahomes and that means they’re never out of a game. Last year’s playoffs proved that with a 24-point comeback against Houston in the Divisional Round, a 10-point comeback against Tennessee in the AFC Championship Game and a 10-point comeback against San Francisco in the Super Bowl.
Baltimore is now tied with Kansas City for first place. The team had a very good draft, but they are only warranted at these odds if quarterback Lamar Jackson starts to perform better in the playoffs.
The next four teams (San Francisco, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Dallas) on the list are all from the NFC. That is the deeply conference by far.
Note that Green Bay (+3600) is not even on the top-10 list. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers may be miffed at the team after drafting his possible successor in the first round (Jordan Love), but those odds still seem very enticing.
