If you’re here to look for answers or provide your own suggestions on this question? Well, you might be as much of a degen as I am.

While I wouldn’t claim to be an expert on Atlantic City, I’ve done my time in dive bars all over the world, and I know a good dive when I find one. Folks will tell you to stick close to your hotel or friendly casino in AC, and they’re probably giving you very good advice. However, if you need to get a away from the clanging of the slot machines, you’ve found your bankroll to be a little lighter than a good bender requires, and you want to be among like-minded or otherwise liquor-deaf friends, let me offer your home away from home dive: Ducktown Tavern and Liquors.

To find it, stumble your way to 2400 Atlantic City Avenue. The bar is open until at least 3am and is situated in the Little Italy section of AC. The menu is standard bar fare, and there are enough TVs on the wall to watch two or three of your favorite teams lose at the same time. The place has been around since a little before 2010, has the rough equivalent of Christmas lights hanging from its rafters, and has the kind of jukebox any dive bar fan will love. And in recent years, they have opened up an outdoor section called The Duck Hut. I’ve not had a chance to enjoy that one yet, but anything called The Duck Hut gets my seal of approval, sight unseen.
