After fighting through a field of 57 in Event 15: Stud 8/ Omaha 8, Allen Kessler won his fourth WSOP Circuit Ring and his first in a mixed game event.
"That was tough, I was down to one big bet," Kessler said after the win.
Generally, Stud is Kessler's game so it's fitting that he now has a Ring in a Stud event.
Kessler defeated three-time ring-winner Wendy Freedman, denying her the opportunity to win a fourth.
"You win, Allen," she said after putting in the last of her chips in a Stud 8 hand.
"Unbelievable. Number four," Kessler proclaimed.
When it came time for the winner's photo, Allen was joined by 14-time Ring Winner Daniel Lowery, seven-time Ring Winner La Sengphet, Jeff Lennon, and others who are here playing the main event.
Kessler has been a fixture of the Graton stop playing every mixed game event. He bubbled Event 10: H.O.R.S.E., finished 10th in Event 11: Big O, and finally broke through in Event 15.
"I think I'll skip the Main Event now, go right to Tulsa tomorrow," Kessler decided on-the-spot as he was leaving the tournament area.
So, that's where our team will be looking for Kessler in the coming days as we continue our coverage of the WSOP Circuit.
