Another Imsirovic win headlines weekend action in the PokerGO Tour major
Ali Imsirovic’s string of 2021 success has even his high-stakes peers marveling at his results. Imsirovic tops the 2021 PokerGO Cup Leaderboard after five events and added his second victory at this year’ series over the weekend.
Imsirovic took down the win in PokerGO Cup Event #4, which wrapped up Saturday at PokerGO Studio. The series saw all tournaments through Event #5 play to their completion at the PokerGO Studio at Aria Las Vegas over the weekend.
Imsirovic’s victory in Event #4: $15,000 No-Limit Hold’em, came over a field of 50 entries. The pro added a $240,000 cash to his ever-growing list of poker accomplishments with the win.
Even Imsirovic’s peers in the top tier of the world’s high stakes tournament players seem in awe of what he has accomplished on the felt in recent months:
“Okay I can’t take it anymore @aliImsirovic has cheat codes,” tweeted Ben Lamb. “I’ll take him vs anyone in these aria birds dm me. Must know me or post etc.”
Lamb’s facetious take on Imsirovic’s “cheat codes” for live tournament poker comes in a year where Imsirovic leads both the PokerGO Cup Leaderboard and has the overall lead on the PokerGO Tour leaderboard.
Imsirovic topped Daniel Weiland (2nd - $157,500) in heads-up play in Event #4. Event #5: $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em, finished up on Sunday.
The eventual No. 1 ranked player on the PokerGO Cup Leaderboard takes home the PokerGO Cup trophy, as well as a $50,000 prize. Through the first five events, the PokerGO Cup Leaderboard standings see Imsirovic holding a sizeable lead:
